Wedding favours are a great way to show guests your appreciation. It's a small gesture that can go a long way, but you want to make sure that, just like any gift, the wedding favour is meaningful and has some thought behind it. Ideally, your guests will have a use for the favour as well so it doesn't just end up in the trash! Here are 6 of our favourite wedding favour ideas:
This wedding favour is easy to purchase, or DIY at home! Lavender bags are great since many people do not have them but will use them! Who doesn’t want their clothes smelling fresh? You can customize them with a cute tag saying something along the lines of “Remember the sweet aroma of love”!
No one can ever have enough candles! You can purchase the candles or, like the lavender bags, they are easy to DIY! Plus, they never go bad and can be stored easily in case they aren't used right away. By putting a cute sticker on the lid or around the base reading “Let love shine bright”, you can customize them easily.
If you know you have a party crowd that is excited for the open bar, they will thank you in the morning for not only a great night but also for the hangover kit! This is a very cheap and easy favour that can be done with a water bottle and two Advil in a baggie. Then attach a note that says “In sickness and In health” with your wedding date to customize the package!
Over the years, succulents have become more popular and for great reason! They are a very low maintenance plant that require minimal watering. Any one of your guests will surely be able to care for one! Bonus: they look amazing in photos!
A great Canadian classic. Real Canadian maple syrup is not something that everyone normally has in their kitchen, but when they do it's a real treat! Your guests will definitely not be leaving without this. However, beware - this one could get costly!
Infused olive oil is so great because it can be quite cheap to give when you DIY. All you need is olive oil (can be bought in bulk), cute jars with lids, and a stick of thyme or another herb. It is great for adding extra flavour to some of your favourite dishes!
No matter the wedding favour you chose, always ask yourself if it is something you would like to receive. If it's not, your guests might not want it either! Always remember their purpose as well: it is a token of appreciation to your guests for joining you in celebration, so there is no need to break the bank! Keep it light, fun, and from the heart and there is no way you can go wrong.
Happy Wedding Planning!
